Safe Way to Remove Stuck/Old Courtesy Lights
I just purchased some replacement courtesy lights for my '77. The overhead dome light is easy to replace but the courtesy lights in the footwells are stuck. Any tricks to getting it out without it shattering in my hand while pulling?

First I would wear leather gloves and eye prtection, goggles are better, and put a small container under it to catch the glass if it breaks. Then try rotating the bulb slowly back and forth and in and out to try and free it up.
Some of the old sockets require you to push in and then turn.
If its seized in then you can get more aggressive.
Can you remove the whole assembly? If its rusted in you can use some pentrating oil once you remove it and make sure the battery is disconnected, repeat step one. If that doesnt work you could cover the assmbly in a plastic bag, break the glass with channel locks, then carefully peal the bottom of the bulb out.

I hate these when they corrode into the socket, just know I'm gonna get cut.
Wear leather gloves, but it most likely will pull the glass bulb out of the metal part. Then you are going to need to work it out with needle nose pliers.
