Knowing the YEAR is a MUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any suggestions and advice is worthless due to changes in the electrical systems from 1968 to 1982. This is not an opinion...but rather a fact.

It is a 70 coup with a 454.Sorry should know better. This stuff is all pretty much new to me. Learning as I go. Getting ready to start new rebuilt motor. Had no wireing to horn relay and that took care of all the problem. Thanks for the replys. Hope to be breaking it in soon. More question I am sure. Gary

Check the bulkhead connectors under you master cylinder to make sure they are tight.
You can disconnect your battery and then open each one up to check for corrosion on the connector pins.
The 1st connector towards the passenger side of the firewall has the thick red wire that feeds the fuse block. It comes from the starter and is 12v hot. A hot black wire from the starter sounds like a Bubba fix. Be careful. Get an AIM manual for your car and it will have the electrical diagrams as well.
Check em out.
