Default power steering pump????

So I'm into week 2 of the new 1972 vette, the power steering pump cap is so close to the alt bracket that it will not come out???? So is it the wrong alt bracket or pump?

Nope.. it all looks correct to me and it's a pain to get the cap out.

Just remove the cap and then start pulling toward the front of the car it should come out. The dipstick may bend a little bit but it won't hurt it.

If you need to add or remove p/s oil, I suggest using a turkey baster.

there are two power steering belts listed for 72 according to the 1983 Parts and Illustration Catalog

with AC the belt is 36"
without AC the belt is 43.25"
you have the NAPA 25-7355 belt which is the shorter belt.
do you have AC?
