Wreck today :(
Hi guys....Sad day today. Lady pulled out on me and I think my baby is going to be ruled totaled. I got beat up good...knees and left wrist and all muscles in my back, but I will survive. I'm so incredibly sad. Just had engine and tranny rebuilt last year. Thought I'd share since this forum has been so good to me.

Oh man, I hate hearing stories like this. First, I hope you make a quick recovery and no lingering effects. I'd definitely by fighting with the other person's insurance to make sure you get the settlement you should out of this. I too am afraid to say that is does look totaled.

So sorry to hear this. You're going to hurt more tomorrow and possibly in the days to come. Just take it easy and let your insurance make it right for you. I hope you get completely healthy quickly. I suggest that you keep a log if you come out of this with residual injuries. I'm still suffering from being rear ended last spring- thankfully it wasn't in the Vette.
If it's totaled will you be shopping for a replacement?

Everything can be fixed...its just how much money and time to do it. If you are good, the rest can be sorted out?
You do know that you can fix a totaled car and can get the car back from the insurance company even if it is totaled by them?....it's your car and if you want to keep that particular car for whatever reason, you can but if totaled by them, you would have a salvage title...no big deal if you love that car. Negotiate with the insurance company for the payment (or the other persons insurance company), take the money and fix what you can, but you may need to put in some of your money to complete the project. May be an option...

Someone hit me in side and I got my whole car painted, it did need a paint job and at the time there was no way I could afford it.
Hopefully you can swing a deal like keeping all the good stuff (engine, tranny etc) and transfer it over to another inexpensive C3 that needs a drivetrain but has good paint and is in good condition otherwise.
Hope it all works out for and don't give up the dream of owning a C3, they are the coolest cars on the road.

I hope to never know how you feel- it makes me sick just to think about it. Hopefully you have receipts for the engine and trans work. I would think that would help add to your settlement if the car is totaled and that could make it easier to find another nice one that you can cherish. Please don't hesitate to go get diagnosed and treated for any pain you have. Your back and neck health is critical for being able to enjoy life. Any settlement you get later will recover those costs. Since you'll be getting an attorney I'll zip my lip regarding any further advice and just wish you well in putting all of this behind you.

Hi Kim, sorry to hear about your Corvette. I hope you get back to your old self quickly. While the loss of your classic Corvette is painful just keep in mind that better days are ahead of you. As far as working with the insurance company my best advice is to present receipts for any and all work put into your Corvette. Also if you have an appraisal prior to the accident present that, if not you could try to get the car appraised for value less the damage. Keep in mind that the amount of money you get from insurance can be the result of negotiation. The more effort you put in the more you will receive. Also try to show the insurance company you are trying to work with them to come to a fair an equitable resolution to your loss. Try to stay positive when dealing with them, and keep in mind they will try to wear you down. In the end it will be your decision on what to accept for your loss. Happy motoring and good luck. Russ
