Trick to removing U-joint clips?
Hey guys, I'm replacing all the u joints in the rear end of my 1979. What is the trick to getting the little u joint clips out of the yokes? I thought I just had to get a pair of pliers on them and squeeze them together to release them, but none of mine will budge. I'm guessing they are just too rusted. Anyone have any tricks for removing them?

Using a flat head screwdriver or small chisel, place the head vertically between the edge of the cap and clip curl. Tap with a hammer working your way around the clip.

Take a socket slightly smaller than the diameter of the ujoint cap and smack it with a hammer one time.
Then simply take a good pair of dikes and compress the clip while twisting clockwise and counterclockwise.

I have always had good luck spraying some WD40 on them first. Then getting pair of pliers on the center and then small flat blade under to lift it out. I also cover it with my hand in car clip decides to fly out. Removed lots of clips that way.

this. or use a blunt punch or whatever. good smack to create some clearance is all you need...
