in the "real world", i'd have to say no. as said above, with enough money, anything is possible but i think the price tag would be enough to make bill gates gag.
here's a couple of the major hurdles that would have to be overcome:
1) the c-3 is significantly more narrow than a c-5
2) wheel base is all wrong
3) front and rear overhangs are all wrong
4) major reconstruction in the rear of the car to accomodate the transmission/rear suspension.
that's a few i can think of off the top of my head but there are plenty more less significant headaches to think about.
if you really wanted the look (and who could blame you?), you would be better off having custom body panels made for a c-5 that mock the c-3 as closely as possible.
the other possibility is something like paul newmans car creations where they take new or salvaged components from a c-4 or c-5, build a custom chassis and put whatever body you want over it.
otherwise, i hope you have many, many zeros in your bank account.

I was just wondering if it was possible.Got any more info on the Paul Newman creations? Is that the same Paul as the actor?

If I had the time and energy (and surplus $), I would do similar to Vettedan and put the Vette Brakes Suspension front and back and drop in an LT1 or LS1/6 engine.

You would be better off having someone weld up a custom tube frame designed to work with Guldstrands 5 link rear suspension. This would give you a much stiffer chassis, modern suspension, and still have the looks of the C3. Merlin had a guy ready to weld up such a chassis for him. Merlin said he might go that way for his next mega project.

Paul Newman (not the actor) does about the closest thing to this. Send him your frame and you first born son and he will customize to it use all c4 suspension components and any drivetrain you wish. I believe the frame work alone will run you around 6-7k, not including any suspension components. I will try and find you a link. I believe he did the cutomization on Rich Lagasse's awesome c1 with c4 suspension, Zo6 engine, and six speed.

He modified the bare frame for Rich's 62. Rich did the rest himself. You can have them do the mods to the frame, a complete rolling chassis or pretty much anywhere in-between. It's just how much money you have vs what you want to do. I have been in touch with Rich and he was nice enough to talk to me about the C4 setup vs VBP performance package (he has that on his 67). Performancewise, the C4 is the best setup, just may not be worth the money for a street cruiser. I'm leaning that way because I want an all out show car. We'll see if I buck up for it.
Here's a link to Rich's 62:

For a chassis that looks like that, I'm willing to spend $12,000 and a year of my time. Then there's another $4000 for wheels and tires, at least $10,000 for a show quality fuel injected engine. And then you still need a tranny, cooling system, AC, gears . . . It's overwhelming, but what a feeling it must be to drive that thing!!!!! So, ~$30,000 and the body and interior are still untouched.
Merlin, I need to be adopted!!!!!!!!
