Wiper door canister?
Trying to troubleshoot some issues while away from the car. Should the front nipple hold a vacuum, or can it bleed down with no adverse effect. Currently when the car is started the door will open. I can close it with a handheld vacuum pump, but it doesn't hold vacuum. If it should hold is that something the rear pylon looking thing or the front plug will help?
My current canister also the front nipple make a 90 deg bend, while replacements are straight. Some used one I've found say they were off 1970 with straight nipple. Is the straight fitting a later design or where interchangeable during 1970 model year. I'm trying to do a correct driver, otherwise would not care,

Hi,
Bob Demmel in Texas rebuilds and restores wiper door and headlight door actuators.
He is able to replace the seal on the inner disc (don't know what it's called) too. (Un-crimp.)
He can do just a functional rebuild, just a cosmetic re-plate, or both.
His work is thought of pretty highly.
Regards,
Alan

My canister is holding vacuum on both sides now. Trimmed the hose on the front and seems good. Also found that one of override switches had the vacuum lines disconnected. Didn't fire it up to see if the door operates yet.
