Default 1970 differential breather/vent missing

Have had this car for a year and I have diff seepage after driving. So before anymore drives I checked the fluid level which seems good, maybe could take a few ounces. Anyway I have the fluid, posi additive, diff plastic breather and ready to go then I discover the top left of the cover just has a hole, no vent. Guess thats not the cause of the leak since there isn't one at all. Anyone else experienced this? Thx.

Hi s,
The differential would typically have the vent.
Regards,
Alan

Thx Alan. Mine is wide open, ran wire in it and had fluid on it. So far I see no way to pop in the plastic vent with rear end in car, not enough clearance.

Hi sb,
The cap of the vent can sometimes be popped off the tube.
Does having it off give you enough clearance?
Regards,
Alan

I did pop off the cap Alan. It didn't help enough. I am just going to go the route of inserting a hose with the vent on the end and securing with a zip tie.

Thx

Shawn
