All of the AIM's are just photocopies of an original. There are not any original printings out there. Just check eBay, you should be able to find a good AIM for '71 at a good price.

I got my 71' AIM from ZIP and have not had an issue with any of the pages. They probably all come from the same guy and you gotta hope that he refilled the ink bottle in the Zerox machine when he ran your copy. If you get one from ZIP or anyone else and you can't read it, send it back for a replacement.

Rick,
IF I can find mine, I'd be happy to copy/hole punch it for you.
I have "unlimited access" to a high speed copier.
I'll e mail you later tonight or tomorrow if I can do it. If you can hold off ordering it, I'll save you the 20 bucks. It would be better to that money to some other project

Go to http://www.ncrs.org, click on the store logo and buy all of your stuff there. You don't need to be a member to buy. Lots of useful help from the guys that answer and they mail it out same day.

I think the AIM I got from ZIP has "Midamerica Designs" on every page! :)
All the illustrations are hand drawn.
If you have trouble finding stuff in the AIM because it is so poorly organized, if it seems random, it actually follows the same titles as the service manual, with any options (RPOS) at the back of the book. MJ

I got my AIM on ebay. It has Mid America's logo on every page, but is still a great resource. If you can't find one in ebay, call Mid America at 800-637-5533 (at least that's the number in my AIM.)
Something you might also want to order, because it is free (yes, free) is the restoration material from GM. Here is the link for info:

Good luck!

There is a full index of the 1970 AIM online on the '70 Registry Website. It was put together by a fellow member Roberto Luis. He typed in all the parts, descriptions, UPC pages numbers for EVERY AIM PAGE!!!!!!!!! It's searchable or downloadable. You can get to it from the Resources PAge on the registry website by clicking on the logo below. ~Juliet

The AIM is, indeed, weirdly organized. Maybe the engineers like it but it does force you to look through it. I know that there have been times I have gone through the AIM twice looking for diagram only to find it on the third try. LOTS of useful information in there however. I would be lost without it.
