Default Old subject but, Does AC Delco still make their batteries?

I was told that AC Delco don't make any of their parts anymore.I was asking about a battery for my old 68 and O'Reilly Auto Parts did carry
them, but the salesman told me they no longer are sold at any place
but an authorized Chevy parts house. He also said Delco don't make
any parts anymore. So my question is can you buy a quality battery
for a Vette like the old Delcos anywhere?

Can't answer your question, but a friend bought 2 A/C Delco for his 1984 Corvette, when he took them out of the box, they said "WIX" on them. I have heard that too A/C Delco is "farming out" their replacement parts by other vendors.

IMHO, the best batteries out there, right now, are Wal-Mart's. And they're affordable. I have a Wal-Mart in my Vette right now. I can let the car sit in freezing weather for six weeks at a time. Then, I walk out, turn her over, and she starts right up. No BS.

Give it a shot.

Just a side note..I make these for a living, it is what I do.
I will make sears, delco, Interstate, and wal-mart brands all in the same day, and all I do is change which case I put them in. If you get a good one or a bad one, it could just have easily been one of the other brands. Myself? I tell them i want a group 75, 6 year. Sometimes I get a sears, sometimes a wal-mart....etc....oh best part, I get them for free

I disagree, respectfully, AC Delco batteries are sold via any GM dealer. How do I know? My best friend owns a beautiful 98 Red c5 convertible, the AC Delco battery is brillantly placed above the computer and wiring harness. It leaked and ate into the wires. Every once in a while his car starts runs on 4 cylinders and he has to turn it off and turn it on and immediately place in gear and it stops, hopefully. Chevy cannot repair it and he has gone to 4 dealerships and their only option is to trade it in on a 2002 C5 and get 3K over blue book for the problem. Horrible location for a battery. above a computer?  They should have built an acid proof enclosure around the battery.

I've been in the local Globe battery Division plant where they build batteries for just about everybody. Just depends on the day you are there who they are making them for. In many cases it's just a different decal, sometimes a different color case, etc. I think they are all created pretty much equal. If you maintain your battery and charging system you should get good service life no matter whose name is on it. :D
