On Board Computer help 1981 Corvette
I'm putting a new crate engine in my '81 vette. The new engine has fuel injection & it's own computer - the old engine had a computer (of sorts) to control the carb .. my question is how / where to disconnect the old computer , so that I don't get the "check engine" light on all the time.
Thanks for your help

Remove the orange RAM power lead that runs from the ECM to the junctionblock next to the battery, with that wire disconnected the whole ALDL (or ALCL for 81) system is disabled.

The ECM has 2 Plugs, it is located between the battery and the drivers seat. You can reach the two plugs on the ecm from the passenger side compartment if you don't want to remove the battery. This would completely remove power from the ECM.
