Switching to a lock-up converter...TH350 Can it be done?
Has anyone here converted to a lockup converter? Is it possible on our cars? Is it difficult? Is it as simple as throwing in a lockup converter?
Thanks!
Thanks!

If you're gonna go halfway, go all the way and stick a 200-4R in there. You will not regret it!

You don't really convert to a lockup converter, you convert to a lockup transmission. The transmission you are probably thinking about is the TH350C. The high stall converters for a l/u transmission are expensive though.

I thought about it. But if you do it, find someone knowledgeable enough to set it up where you control the lockup with a toggle switch. Lockups are a pain in the but in town. Always going in and out of lockup at lower speeds. Probably worth a little more expense and trouble to upgrade to newer overdrive tranny.

I have to agree with Page62, it would probably cost you just about as much to find a good rebuilt TH350C and get it installed as it would to put in a TH200-4r from Bowtie. I think you'd be a lot happier with an overdrive and lockup than just lockup.
