Re: Nitrous Install.. Where did you mount your bottle? (QuickVet)
I'm interested in doing this as well. The most practical place to mount would be the rear storage compartment. I tried to fit my friends 10lb bottle but it didn't quite clear the door. If I could find a 6lb or maybe 8lb bottle it would be a perfect fit. Anybody else have experience with this or know where to get an 8lb bottle.

Gary's 69 down here has the bottle inside the spare tire case, pretty stealthy, not so sure how safe in a rear end accident.

I know MANY C4 owners that have their bottle in the spare tire carrier. I plan to ount mine behind the passenger seat. I never use the rear comparments so I'll probably mount it there.

Any one with an older C3 with pics of an install? There is no way to fit a bottle inside the tiny '69 rear compartments. :(
Sure was easy on my C5 Z06, though. :D

I had a 10 pound bottle just behind the passenger's seat with the valve close to the seat. It prevented me from opening one compartment but it was easy to open the valve in this location.

I would think that either in the rear compartment box, if it would fit. Or mount it in the back storage area above where the tire wells are. The spare tire carrier doesn't sound like a bad idea neither.

10# behind the passenger seat. The compartment will open with the pressure line removed.

Thanks guys. this has been very helpful. A couple questions tho. For those of you who mounted it like in this picture. was it hard to bolt down? Is there a chance of drilling into the gas tank or anything else in that area?
Im going to go look at the NOS site for smaller bottles. Mabey i can find one that will hide in the compartments.
Anyone have pics of where they mounted the solinoids?
:D :D

here is what my install is starting to look like. I havent decided if i want to keep this setup because i know the header heat is not going to be good for those solinoids and that rubber hose right there. I would at least have to upgrade to a braided hose. Any suggestions or ideas for me? thanks.

Hey Aaron... here's a few of the pics of my install... I took them a few weeks ago but never got the time to email them to you...
The Bottle is going up on top of the wheel well on the passanger side. I've started to fabricate a bracket to hold it nice and snug... I'll shoot a couple of pics of that when I get some time...
I mounted the selonoids ontop of the valve cover to a piece of alluminum I made into a bracket. Worked out pretty well...but I think I might have to move the fuel selonoid about an inch to to the right...I wont know for sure untill I put on the carb plate.
Here's the fuel line. I T'ed it off with the Holley fuel pressure regulator... worked out pretty nice, but the cheesy rubber hose will go as soon as I'm sure everything will fit. Everything will be hard alluminum line when it's all done.
I ran the Purge right through one of the existing firewall holes and up through the cowl. Nice fit with no cutting!!! :D
My favorite is the switch pannel... I cut the ashtray mount (i had another anyway) and welded up another piece of alluminum sheet to the bottom. I Mounted Two lighted rockers for the main power, and Bottle heater and a momentary for the purge. It is all hidden away when you slide the ashtray door up!
Actually I mounted everything so it all hides away when not in use... The Heater tucks up and out of sight when not needed so if anyone ever looks inside (when the bottle isnt in there) you'll never know it's set up to spray!!!

Re: Nitrous Install.. Where did you mount your bottle? (ice pac)
I plan on mouting my bottle behind the driver seat going side to side, not front to back. How hard is it plumb the nitrous into the motor? I'm not mechanically challenged, so some basic directions/tips would be great :yesnod:
