casting numbers, head and intake
Finally I took of my valvecovers to get view on head casting numbers. This is what I found: 3998993 and C 29 3, What does this tell? If I have understood the correctly these are from -73 L-48 vette, casting date March 29th 1973. Am I correct?
There is also stamp "27" between sylinder 5 valves, what does it mean? And between sylinders 3 and 5 there is stamp GM44, is there any special meaning for that?
I also check the intake manifold numbers: 346249 and below that is "10" and J174. I suppose the later one is date code, October 17th 1974? This might be the original intake, at least the date code is pretty much correct. Birthday of the car is in the beginning of January -75.
Maybe somebody can tell me more or at least confirm my suggestions! :smash:

Re: casting numbers, head and intake (stpman)
Thanks to you all for replies! In fact it's not really anything very important to know where this stuff is coming from, because they are not #'s matching anyway. Excluding the intake. Anyhow it's nice to know what stuff there is inside... :smash:
