Default Fender Flare choices?

I'm in the middle of prepping the vette for paint/body and have been toying with the idea of flares to allow for wider rear wheels/tires. The only problem I'm having is finding the flare that fits my vision for this car. Most of the flares I've seen kind of "bubble" over the wheels, which is a big difference from the concave slope of the stock flares. I would prefer a flare of 2" at the most that closely resembles the stock flare and takes more than casual inspection to really notice. Does anyone know of a flare I can buy like this, or am I going to have to build my own?
BTW, how much flare will I need to clear 315s on 11x17 wheels and offset trailing arms?
Thanks,
-Jason

Hello, You got couple of different choices. Since your car is 72 and came with the mud flap design frm factory I'd say these would look very good on your car:

You can get them from Eckler's. I think Rolling Thunder is using the same flares, he's just flaring them even more! That in the pic above is wearing 335 rear tires on 11x18 wheels and fronts are 295 on 10x18 wheels.

Great picture Jay, flares, moonroof T's, LeMans fuel cap and big rubber! Love it. My TT-D's had no selection on backspace so with 1" adapters and 10" wide wheels I still ran out of flare to cover the 325/50/15 tires.

Does anyone offer the flares WITHOUT the mud flap design for 78-82 vettes?
The only one I know of is showcars bodyparts, they have them for the later years in the design that I like most.

Not directly for 70-82 C3s, but you'd be doing fiberclass work anyway, so just get the ones for 68-69 and make them work. Talk to Chris (69MyWay) for more info. :yesnod:

They are made by ACI and can be found from Paragon, Corvette Central and Mid America. Hope this helps!

Yeah, I saw those but they're all for the earlier body style. The 78 body was changed a tad in the rear for wider tires. Hmm.. then maybe those showcars guys are the ONLY one offering them for all years. Thanks for the help, thos are the flares I want :)
