Who else get's carried away at the last minute?
Almost time to bring out the vette for spring and I get the bright idea to polish the center console and repair the nipples on the upper peice that the lower console screws to. While I have it out I get the brainstorm to install a radio with a cd unit, might as well put in new speakers.
While I have the lower unit out might as well replace the heater control panel and lens.As long as I'm ordering parts might as well order a true dual exhaust.
And last fall I thought I didn't have anything to do this winter!!!!!

It's even easier to fall in that trap when you happen to have the money to pay someone else to do the repairs. Last time my car was in a shop, I got the front end kit put in, but since the T-arm bushings were shot, it wouldn't drive straight so why not do those too? While it's apart, the rotors needed to be turned (was sucking air) andreplace the one leaking caliper. Since the T-arm bushings were shot, why not get new T-arms and make sure the rear bearings get taken card of in the process, as well as the e-brake hardware.
I had a hard time getting my belts on because the motor mounts were sagging, and if you're doing belts, might as well do hoses and change the coolant.
Since the shop was 120miles away, I'm no sure if I had while-your-at-it-itis or Better-fix-it-cause-your-either-going-to-breakdown-or-crash-itis. :nopity
This IS a daily driver, so I'd better make sure it's reliable. The car sure drives/rides a LOT better. Even passengers notice the difference!

I know what you mean! I just put in new cargo compartments in my 80' and then figure while I was at it I would get out this small bubble in the carpet...which turned into redoing all of the carpeting  Since I had the interior apart why not put in a speaker or two, a cabinet and a CD player. Now I'm waiting (trying to decide) which one to get :D

Sounds like a good case of the "While-I'm-at-it-itus"
