Default Carpet dying

Does anyone have expereince with carpet dyeing? My carpet is in very good shape short of a bit of fading. I have been researching dyeing (about $70 for a car) and it looks like a very good option, since if I replace my carpet I must replace my door panels which are in great shape. This adds about $600 or cost. I notice the interior dyes state that they can be used on carpet and I found a procedure to do this. Basically spray, let dry, brush in one direction, spray again, brush in other dierction. Has anyone tried this, or know of a good carpet dyeer in the Chicago area?

Default Re: Carpet dying (gliot1)

I'm in the process of doing my whole interior from red to black using vinyl spray. I used it on the carpet on the door panels and seemed to work just fine. About $4 a can at K-Mart. (yeah i know). Just have to do like you said and brush a little so that it gets all the angles.
