Dream Car Garage L-88 rebuild
Did anyone see the episode of DCG where they rebuilt the L88? I couldn't believe they were doing it on a workbench! I don't know how much a BB weighs but I've got to believe it would have been a whole lot easier to move it around if they used an engine stand.

What they did not show was the six guys it took to turn that thing over!!!! I
checked the "credits" after the show and saw no listing for "motor movers"

IT's Just to get the T.V. friendly angle for the camera.
Show off the shop and sponsor logos behind them etc.
Engine stands are usually pretty low, with no background to frame the shots.
It IS just T.V. afterall.

Personally, I liked when they took the BIG mallet to the motor! Nothing like whacking on your newly built $8,000 motor with a big hammer and a slug of aluminum!!! :smash:
Also, careful not to sneeze or blink, as you might miss the 10-20 seconds of the show they actually dedicate to the corvette!

I have been watching the show for about a year or so. The only problem is they never spend much time talking about the project. I was really hoping to see them include more detail in the L88 project but so far there has been very little about it.

Re: Dream Car Garage L-88 rebuild (Mystery Machine)
The show has changed quite a bit since it first came on. It was originally to show a complete resto. each step of the way and they did just that including taking us into the paint booth. Now I am not sure what the emhasis is other than pushing their own sales. It is starting to seem like a bad infomercial with a lot of stupid dialogue. And the actual garage is only about 40 minutes from my home, disappointing now to say the least.
