How Many 1980's are Still Running
Is there any way of finding out how many of a certain year Vette are still on the road? I know they made about 40,000 1980's.... Thanks

Well... That would be hard. The DMV for each state should be able to tell you how many are registered in there state. It would just take 50 phone calls. :banghead:

I think that's an interesting question. If you find a way to get that info, let us know.
As an owner of a 1979, I'm constantly told the fact that they made over 53,000 that year (the most of ANY year) and that makes them less desireable. It seems a lot of people buy an old chrome bumper as a garage queen and get a late seventies as a "beater". Like they were disposable.
So, that begs the question. If so many chrome bumpers are being saved and restored, and late seventies are "disposable" , at what point are there less late models because they've been "disposed" of? There probably aren't as many '79's out there as you might think. I know I see far more chrome bumpers on the road and at shows than I see '79's.
Let us know if you find a way to get that count. I'd like to know.

Mines not on the road, actually in pieces right now. It hasn't been inspected since 98.

I have a friend here in florida that has one with 500 original miles. But, that doesn't really count as being on the road
