Going to paint the underside of my hood, what paint should I use, want it to be as close to stock looking as possilbe. :D

I did my 68 hood with Krylon Semi Flat black spray paint, available at any hardware store. I think their part number is 1613, also price is around $3.00

I am finishing up a 6 year frame on restoration and have used various Krylon paints to achieve the correct shades as per my NCRS technical reference guide.
I have also received many recommendations from others on this forum before I started and was told that Krylon was the correct color shadesd and also of good quality so that is why I started using it.
I have not been disappointed.

Hey Paul where did you get that paint ?

Should the underside be flat black or gloss, last picture looks kinda glossy ?

Any John Deere machinery/tractor dealer has it. The paint is a semi-flat finish.

That's what I used. It dries fast & is easy to clean. It looks shinier than reality in the pic.

OK got the Krylon Semi Flat black but the part number on the can says 41613, it is the right stuff isn't it ?

Also have the orignal sticker for the vehicle emission controls stuck on the underside and was wondering if I should paint around it or peel it off. I just had my car appraised and he seemed to think the original sticker on the door was worth keeping there. :D

Put some tape over the sticker when you paint. That is the right Krylon, picked some up the other day myself.

You can also "paint" rubber cement or vaseline on the sticker before you paint the rest of the hood. Then once the paint is "dry", wipe off the rubber cement or vaseline.
