Why is the vacuum line from the intake running to the brake booster, then tees off and routes to the wiper door and headlights??????.....I understand that the brake booster is a hydraulic and vacuum operated system, but I thought these systems were supposed to be separate......I'm having trouble with my wiper door and headlights and I've got the the ZIP hose kit, but my car isn't routed the way it shows in the diagrams........

.........has Bubba been here??? Is there supposed to be another port in the intake for the brakes??? Does any one have any pics of their brake booster vacuum routing???

350cu.....4-speed......the block is '72, the heads are '65 327 and the intake is an Edelbrock Torker (yuck).....the rest of my Vette is a '71 350cu/270HP base model...I know this has been fiddled with 'cause the hoses to the booster are 3/8" fuel hose, not vacuum........any ideas?????

The vacuum on the brake booster should be fed direcly from a port on the rear of the carb. ALL BY ITSELF. Re-route all your hoses according to the diagram. Bubba surly has visited your car....right after he butchered my 72 vacuum. He T-'d the headlight vacuum off the distributor advance!!! The Doc Rebuild vacuum diagram helped me straighten it all out.

Thanks....I'll re-route the hoses according to the diagram......I've got a lot of work to do though....I was twisting one of the hoses to see what colour it was and it disintegrated in my hand.....it was the white, long bastard that goes to the headlights.....they used to work fine :)
