plastic socket inserts for lug nuts...
i am so tired of ruining the chrome on my lugs from the use of the 4 way or impact wrench...
has anyone used these or any similar products?
i am told by the people at Ken-Tool that these are available at NAPA as well as CarQuest... http://www.kentool.com/Wrenches_SocketInserts.htm

Plastic inserts will work but the ones I had didn't last long. I'm using aluminum sockets. They're expensive but they work well. Eastwood used to carry them but stopped. Manufacturer is Ozat, I believe, in Israel. You'll have to source them from an industrial supplier. I got mine at Newman Tools in Montreal. I see they've got an address in Hartford, CT as well.

I hope my local NAPA has them. I just got a set of new lugs for my '78. I've been using freezer bags in the socket now. Snap-On sells coated sockets, but $$$. These should be cheap.
