I am working on replying to your other post, about the exhaust. Look in there in about 10 min.

I'm using Hooker Super Comps... There are a number of brands that will fit. It pretty much comes down to personal preference.

Just about any for a SB Corvette will work fine on your ZZ4, don't let that "raised exhaust port" scare you, they aren't but about .30" higher and don't cause any problems with Hooker's, Dynomax or your old cast iron Ramshorn exhaust manifolds.

I just got the Sanderson shorty's. They have the correct "D" port, and is about all I can use with putting the original side pips back on with out some very wicked s bends!!

ZZ4 Header Alternatives?
Hi all,
I know this is an old thread but I'm looking for some ZZ4 header alternatives that I can use for a dual exhaust set up on my '79. ... I'm just surprised at how much the Hooker ones are...$695??
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HO...1HKR/?rtype=10
Can anybody offer any specific alternatives by part number so I can take a look????
Thanks!

While I posted about the Dynomax headers years ago, I eventually switched to the Hooker Supercomps with a Jethot coating for the SBC Corvette.

I've used these, and they're great. Made just for the ZZ4

Thanks tonyv123. Did you coat them separately? It doesn't look like they come coated..
Any opinions on the HEDMAN 68309 below?

sokol99,
Yeah, I did have them coated, but I wanted to make sure they fit first, 'cause on another brand of headers I purchased (that were already coated), I had to dimple a tube at the steering box, and it chipped the ceramic. The Hedmans didn't need dimpling, however I changed to NON-power steering. (On the set I dimpled, I still had power steering). On this Hedman part number, they don't have an option for ceramic coating from Hedman anyway.
Also check around as I found a place with a much better price on that same part number than the link I posted. I can dig up the vendor if you decide to get the Hedman's.
