So far, $2500.01!
That wasn't a production item on any car, was it?

I believe that was dealer installed or over the counter only. I saw the cowl hood for one of those at a swap meet once. I forget exactly, but the price was unreal!

I remember 10 years ago these going for 2500 wit hcarbs so now at 2500 for just the intake does not surprise me. It was a dealer installed option. I have seen a couple of these on 302s. They really scream in the upper rpms but not much in the low end torque. They were intended for road racing.

If I had a '69 or even a 2nd GEN Camaro I would try to get that intake. I don't know about $5k. But get it home and polish inside and out and clear powder coat (outside). Spend that kinda $$$, gotta make it look good too.

Gordonm,
I ran the Edlebrock version which is a virtual copy of the factory unit. I had awsome torque from 3000 rpm up. My Chevy parts guy tried tracking the kit down for me in 1978. They listed for about $550 for manifold, 2 carbs, and linkage. The standard story, "Just sold the one that had been sitting on the shelf for years last week!"
There may be better manifolds available today; but RVRacer is absolutely correct that this is a historically significant, highly desireable, and very potent collector's piece. I wish I had it!!

Sorry but that would make absolutely no sense. If it goes for that than there are truly people out there that have more money than sense.
While you may think that this is a bit too much to pay, I know quite a few people with money and sense who would disagree with you. Howard (redvetracr) is right on the money... It's brand new, in the box... $5,000 easy.
If you ever latch on to a Winters cast 3x2 small block intake manifold Wade, I'll pay you $5,000 for it. :)

I purchased a complete setup about ten years ago... Intake, carbs, fuel line, linkage, air filter assembly, etc. Only reproduction part was the hood (and it's a really nice reproduction... Going rate at that time was $7,000... I can only imagine what it would cost to put together a complete system today.

Re: Factory Z-28 Cross Ram for SB Chevy...INSANE!!! (Rowdy Rat)
I have posted 2 dyno sheets from How to Hot Rod the Small Block Chevy. You will note that the Smoke Ram with 1 850 Holley has a very similar hp/torque curve to the nearly identical dual quad Chevy version. The comparrison of the Smoke Ram to the Tarantula and the LT1 manifold shows that makes as much or more torque across the board.
I loved that manifold!!!

Look at the rpm that they are turning on that dyno run. They really come on at 5000+ rpm. That is a pretty healthy cam for 305 cubic inches. Pretty  stuff for 1969

Okay...I am fairly certain this is the dealer-installed cross ram for the 1969 Z-28 Camaro. Yes, it is probably quite rare.
I dunno...I can't see paying THAT much for the manifold. $2500 for a car part that you probably SHOULDN'T install because it will lose value? This is like the cars that are restored to mint original condition and then are trailered around car shows and never driven. So you pay OVER $2500 (God knows what the reserve is!) for this manifold and it is valuable because it is new in the box. So now if you INSTALL the manifold...POOF!...you have marks on it that show that it's been installed and the value DROPS!?!?! So you do like Chuck Harmon and buy a trophy case for it and hang it on your mantle???? I got a pretty good collection of big block manifolds and I'm adding to it all the time. But I wouldn't HESITATE to bolt any one of them on a car and I plan on doing just that with ALL of them. I see absolutely NO reason to buy something like this to leave in a box or hang on a wall. And that's JUST what you'll have to do unless you want to lose money on the purchase.
Don't get me wrong...it's definitely
but common sense has to prevail on this thing. Let's keep an eye on it and see just how rich (and stoopid) some guys are :D

Somebody's smoking crack
I think anybody that will pay $2500 for an intake is
If they have all this money laying around they can donate it to me, my car would get finished faster :D

EDDIE: Depends on the intake. I wouldn't mind paying $2500 for this one:

But it WOULD get bolted ON the car :D
