Cigarette lighter not working
While wiring in a new stereo, I noticed my cigarette lighter is not working. I was going to tap into this wire for my constant power to the radio. What steps should I take to get this wire hot again? Would I start with the fuze box, and if so, how do I identify what fuse it is associated with? Is the fuse box located under the dash on the drivers side? I haven't gone exploring yet.

Yes, start with the fusebox. It is located drivers side under the dash, screwed to the firewall. The fuses are labeled and also shown in the owners manual. That is a good place to start. You could also get constant power from the clock, may be the same fuse.

Great! I'll go arm myself with screwdriver, flashlight and owners manual and get started!
Thanks for the advice!

The prior owners of my car had apparently spilled water or something into the cigarette lighter. It was extremely rusty, but had voltage to it.

Well, I am pretty sure no power is going to the wire because I tapped into it for my constant power for the stereo. When I turn the car off, all of the presets and the radio clock goes back to 12:00.
Is there another wire I could try and splice into that is constant power?
