Best mechanical fuel pump to use?
I am building a 427 small block and I would like to go with a higher than stock volume pump. Do I need to use the fuel return line? If so, what pump has a return line provision?
Thanks

Some people can't believe I'm able to feed my thirsty motor with just a stock pump.
Gm return line pumps solve the vapor lock problem.
Tell me what's the longest time in seconds that you ever had your foot on the floor?
I was running a 825 race Demon carb that is probably really flowing over 900 cfm. I have a fuel pressure gauge. If I floor my car from a dead stop for more than 20 seconds the speedometer is wrapped around way past 140 mph and climbing. I've watched the gauge and it holds steady on 6 psi. I ran 8 AN SS flex lines from the pump and a fuel log for the bowl feeds.
I just can't see the big pumps or the electric pump whine.

While I don't have near the power that gkull has I can verify that my fuel pressure has never dropped during a quarter mile run with my 750 Speed Demon carbed 406.
