1.6 rockers on a ZZ4
Has anyone put 1.6 roller rockers on a ZZ4? I'm considering doing this with out putting in the hot cam. The stock cam with 1.6 rockers will provide a .544 exhaust valve lift which is higher than if using then with the hot cam, .525 lift. I have the feeling that most of the hp gain from the hot cam kit is produced by the 1.6 rockers rather than the cam grind. Seems like a lot of work to change the cam for such a slight change in the cam characteristics. I am concerned about the added lift of the exhuast valve, ie. spring coil bind, piston clearance. We put 1.6 rockers on a tweaked ZZ4 using a Comp Cams XR270-HE roller cam. Not very good for automatics, but great with a manual trans.

I just got my ZZ4 and was wishing that was an option from the factory...sounds like a good compromise between stock ZZ4 and hp oriented hot cam
