Default LARS or distributer tuners

I'm still getting hi RPM stumble at 4000 RPM or higher, more at take off then a rolling start. I lost my LARS brief on distributers. If I recall we want 36 advance to come in by 2500RPM correct? I'm assuming that's with the vacuum advance plugged correct?

[B][ VAC DISCONNECTED /B]
16 advance at 759 RPM idle
35 advance at 2970 RPM and will go no higher.

VAC CONNECTED
18 at 874 RPM idle
36 advance @ 1600RPM
58 ADVANCE @ 2500RPM

Q1 - With the vac. advance connected am I getting too much advance?
Q2 - Hesitation is only at 4K or greater other than that 1500-3900RPM it runs like a raped ape. LARS says to encure 36 degrees before 2500 RPM so I'm going to adjust the timing to bring in 36 degrees at close to 2600 RPM.

JUMP IN IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE.

David

That does seem a bit high with the vac adv and your 11/1 comp, try running it without the vac adv hooked up and see if it makes any diff. Someone else posted they had a problem with no power above 4500 rpm's and it went away when they replaced their coil.

New numbers after spring change and timing adjust

16 degrees at 758 RPM idle
36 degrees at 2650 RPM

Set idle at 850RPM and took it for a test. Accelerates well at 3500 RPM stumbles for a microsecond and carb kicks in and it goes like hell till I ran out of road. I was at 5000 RPM and it was still accelarating hard good enough for me. I know if I had someone like LARS work on it I could squeeze another 15 + HP out of her (experimenting with jet size/ jetting, and maybe go to a Holley/ Victor Jr. setup but for now it rocks and pulls like a BB car when the 327 is at 2500 RPM or higher. Good way to end the weekend. now I'll go and spoil her with a coat of wax.

Your numbers look right on the money - perfect (54 with the vac hooked up is correct). If you're still stumbling or having problems, you might want to check secondary jetting/setup and fuel delivery. You can also check your plug gap and make sure you're not running any wider than .035.
