is comp cams extream energy 268 best for mild 350 w/ vortec heads?
I am learning about cams this week and it appears the 268 is perfect for my needs which is non racing...just cruising. My vortec heads have aftermarket z-28 springs so lift is not an issue with any cam within reason. Would like opinions please.

I had the exact cam in my 327 which had a performer intake and camel hump heads. I LOVED the cam, great bottom end, good midrange and nice lope at idle. I think you'll like it. :yesnod:

You will definitely like it, go for it. The 268 and vortec heads work very well together.

I have the XE262 in mine and now wish I would have stepped up to something like the 268 at least. You should be happy with it.

I put an XE-256 in a 350 with vortecs for the old Nova wagon. Even with 3.08s it starts out almost as well in sec gear as first (3.42 low ST-10). The Vortecs definately make a cam seem much milder than it is at low speed but mine will pull hard to 5800rpm. I bet the 268 will great in a Corvette.
