Default Weird AC Question

1982 Corvette

I have a Pontiac Grand Am that I am going to either part out myself, or sell to a junk yard. The AC compressor is still relatively new, and I want to know if there is a way to convert it run on an 82 Corvette. The vette does not have an AC compressor at this point, but it does everything else that goes with it. This may not even be possible to do, but I just wanted to get peopleÂ’s opinion before I buy an AC compressor for the vette.

TIA,
CDM

I don't think the pontiac compressor will fit a chevrolet, no matter how much you beat on it with a hammer. sell it, and get yourself the correct part.

BTW, if you need any info on your 82 crossfire, go to the Crossfire forum. :seeya

The '82 Corvette uses an R4 compressor. The Grand Am likley uses a more modern unit. R4's can be had very cheaply. For example, Contemporary Corvette sells them for $119.
