Okay, all negative 700R4 statements are retracted
I just started from the beginning with this tv cable. Checked all the pressures in every gear and re-set the cable up to a moderately aggressive setting with the gauge on the car.
It was -all- in that TV cable. :conehead
So I took it for a drive and it was shifting firm. There was no slippage at all. So I nailed it from a slow roll and my butt was friggin BURIED into the seat. Caught a nice piece of second too.
That was officially it maiden voyage with the 406. Of course the trip was not without event. It appears that a lower radiator hose is now needed. But I'm happy to trade a bad tranny problem for a hose issue anytime...
BTW,
My fully pegged pressure is around 250psi. Having this gauge is really nice. Its HELL to get on & off though...

Glad things worked out so well. You had some pretty fine advice from a few people on the Forum. This place is a hotbed of talent and expertise.

I used steel brake lines and mounted my gage in the engine compartment so know matter what I adjust on the carb I can check that it didn't screw up my TV settings. Glade you got it fixed before it did any damage.

Glad that everyone pitched in their .02 and helped you figure it out! You were really feeling bad about that tranny yesterday. :(
And now of course you're :hurray: so that's all that matters :yesnod:

Glad to hear your troubles are all ironed out. I'd love to have a 200R4 or 700R4 in my 77.

Jack - Glad it was simple. Now you can wonder how many people have dumped the 700 because the TV adjustment was giving them "poor performance"....
