Default What type of resin to use?

I am little confused on what type of resin to use on my 76 with SMC panels. It is supposed to be polyester or epoxy resin?

This has been kicked around several times before. You didnt say what you were doing, repairs or bonding, but it is like this. Believe it or not, the factory used a polyester type resin, and if you have ever seen one of these cars hit before, you can see the weakness of it. There are also many problems with seams and separation, but the polyester was barely adequate. Epoxy based products would be much better as a bonding agent, but generally they are not so good as fillers. So if you are making structural repairs or bonds, it is best to use epoxy, but for the surface a good polyester that is recomended for the purpose is OK. Some companies like Ever-Coat have these. You could use them for bonding, but the results would be similar to the factory products.
