454 stock Corvettes with a 4 speed transmission from 1970 to 1972, performance difference?
Just curious if you guy's have driven a 1970 454BB 390HP 4 speed, a
1971 454BB 360HP 4 speed, and also a 1972 454BB 270HP 4 speed.
Did you find a big diference in speed and performance from 1971 to 1972 454 Corvettes?
Let me know please.

Re: 454 stock Corvettes
Considering the compression steadily dropped as well as the overall performance, I would think there is a noticable difference. How much of a difference, I'm not sure.

the engine is the same from 70-72. compression dropped in 71 and the gross hp went to 365 which is about 270-280 net, therefore 230-250 at the wheels. i doubt one could feel the difference because the torque is so huge with these motors.

Almost no difference in the the real world, Note GM chande specs from gross to net HP ratings as indicated in the above thread
