75 BBC Stingray

I need to buy a oil pan and pump for the 454 swap. I was looking at the GM part #: 14091356 from gmpartsdirect.com. This is a 5qt pan that comes with a windage tray. I was also looking at the oil pump part #: 3969870. Both are supposed to be original equipment on the LS-7 motors in vettes. I did read some concerns about high volume pumps (which the 3969870 is) and pans with less than 6-7qt capacity. Is anyone running this combo? To those running this pan, what pump are you using?

I was running the stock 454H.O. Melling HV pump and 502 pan. I was concerned about ground clearance (had maybe 4inches tops) and recently switched to the 6qt Moroso kick out sump pan. Looks great and gained much needed clearance. No concerns w/ the HV pump. :cheers:

I use the LS7 pan an HV pump and it works really good.. :thumbs: :thumbs:
