Good aluminum wheel polish???
Does anyone have a favorite aluminum wheel polish they use? I just got all four of my '81 rims stripped of their remaining, flaking clear coat and had the imperfections ground out and machine polished. They look awesome, but I want to polish them up to as close to a mirror finish as I can. I have an aluminum wheel sealer, but I'm looking for a good aluminum polish with a very fine abrasive as to not scratch them since I just got them done.
Does anyone have a polish they've been using for a while that they absolutely trust? If so, how well does it work, and where can I get it? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!! :yesnod:

I have always used autosol ...... great results. My aluminum wheels polish up like chrome.
Anyone else have a favorite? Also, does anyone know if it's safe to use Zaino polish on them to seal them, or can it do harm to the bare aluminum finish?

Thanks! Where can I find it. I checked their website and it's down and being updated. I checked Eckler's and they don't seem to carry it. Any suggestions? Autozone, Pep Boys, or is it mail order only?

If you try this stuff, I'm sure you'll like it ....... if you can see the pic of my car in my sig, those nice shiney wheels are about 20 years old ......

Thanks for the suggestions! That's one vote for Autosol if I can find it, and two each for Mothers and Neverdull. I've seen Neverdull in the store before. That's that cotton like material with the polish on it (in a tin can), right? I'll assume that it isn't very abbrasive since you are all very happy with it. Same with mothers. Maybe I'll buy both and test them in tiny areas on my rims to see which seems to work better. How could I go wrong? :yesnod:
If anyone else has suggestions, keep 'em comin. Thanks again!

I bought some mothers billet aluminum polish but haven't tried it yet. My wheels are billet aluminum so I expect it will work really well.

As if you needed another vote for mothers, hehe. I had very good luck with it, you need some good lint-free rags or something to apply it, then wipe off.
Tell us more about sealers, will they prevent oxidation? Won't wear off like clearcoat?

Mothers is an excellent product, and I used to swear by it . . . until I came across Busch Super Shine Alloy Polish. Widely used in the trucking industry - your average Kenworth or Freightliner has around 237 acres of chrome or alloy :jester - and available at any truck stop, many auto parts stores, or from Eckler's.
