Default 1975 Corvette Battery Discharge

Every time I start my 75 It drains the battery and needs put back on the charger. At first I thought it was the battery so I replaced it but still have the same problem. The car has recently been brought out of about 10 years of storage. I jump start it with my truck and it seems to take all the amps of both batterys to start it. The key has been worn out and I always jump out the solenoid but I dont think thats the problem .Any ideas?

Check output altrenator's output.
Check for something drawing off the batt. with the key off.

The battery will stay charged when the car sits. the only time it drains is when we try to start it.

I havent been able to reach anyone. I'll post something as soon as I find something out. You might take it to a shop and have a starting/charging system test. It should only take about five minutes and many places don't charge for it. I know Interstate Batteries offers this service around here. The hook a computer to the battery and it cycles through a series of tests. Load test, CA & CCA test Alt. output, and a Starter test.

Sounds like a bad starter to me, but running that load test described above is a good idea.

They said its probably the starter but, suggest you have the test done. Otherwise you could spend alot of money on a starter you dont need.
