Default Cragar Ss Rims On 1980 C3

I Saw In Another Thread That Spacers Are Needed For Cragar Ss Rims I Just Ordered 15 X 8 For Front And 15 X 10 For Rear. Ordered 245/60/15 Firestone Indy 500 For Front And 295/50/15 Firestone Indies For Back. Will I Need Spacers If So Where Do I Get Them?

You should be able to get them from where ever you ordered the rims from. I bought mine locally, and they had the spacers in stock. People have said that spacers cause problems, but I've had mine since the spring and have not had even one loose lug. Plus, I think the cragars look great too! Nice choice

I just put S/S on my 80 and i needed 1/2" spacers that i had made here at work.Cragar does make a spacer kit but in my case it was cheaper to make them.cost me a 12 pack for the machinist to stay over one afternoon and make them out some aluminum left over from a job.

Hi. As a FYI, from my experience, with rims that have a 4.5" backspace a spacer is not required on my 1980, but with a 5" rim backspace a 3/8" spacer was needed

Mine needed 3/8" spacers. The reason for the spacers is in the design of the cragar ss wheel. The spokes don't give enough clearance for the caliper. A minor detail in my book.

Sorry to say that if the guy from the tire shop has no clue... sounds like you need to find a better tire shop. These guys are educated in mounting wheels on cars - and should have spacers in hand.
