Default Lightweight Brake Kit...

Does anybody out there make a lightweight brake kit for a C3??? I'm looking for a kit with light aluminum calipers, thinner, smaller rotors and all necessary mounting,Good brake pads too! I see many of the cars I will be raing against in F.A.S.T(drag racing) are switching to these type of brake systems, better performance AND lightweight!! Thanks in advance!

SSBC makes aluminum calipers that are a direct bolt on. They aren't smaller or thinner though, but the weight savings is substantial.

Just a thought...

Perhaps you could go to a Force 10 (aluminum) caliper in the rear and remove the front calipers and rotors all together. Obviously not practical for street use, though.

427v8 makes brackets that you can fit wilwood 4 piston calipers on. Another company makes the brackets for the rear.

Thinner smaller rotors are not the way to go if you drive on the street. Sure for drag racing you don't need as good a set of brakes but if you run on the street those thin rotors will warp.

My local speed shop had them in the showroom and they don't look like much but at least you can say you have a working pair of from brakes.

Might want to talk to 427V8

Also, I think Precision Brakes can hook you up.

look into front brakes by either strange or mark williams. They are made for drag racing, save around 60lbs off of front or rear. You will have to take your spindles off and sent to them for the front kit.The rears are made for solid axle back half cars.cost around 900 dollars.

Default Strange Brakes

I installed Strange lightweight (drag race only) brakes on the front and rear of my 70, and saved 52 pound on the front and 48 pound on the rear.

I don't know how to post a picture, however you can see the rear bracket (one side) at this website; http://home.earthlink.net/~geaton/
