It is still in the works. They guy is willing for me to see the engine, just trying to coordinate our schedules to make it happen. I still have not met the guy. We now know where he really works, and I have stopped by a couple of times, and he just left me a voice mail message to not stop by anymore, his boss was giving him problems about me stopping by asking to see him.
An interesting thing Strictly GM found was that the pictures on ebay are the exact same pictures on Sallee Chevrolet website. Ebay Sallee Chevrolet

What a story!!!
That's what I call team work....except
.....did anyone alert e-mail the poor new buyer of the engine, who is probably a fellow Vette enthusiast?
....before he sends the money

I hit buy it now under my wifes Ebay account, I never sent the money, Matchframe and myself figured it to be a scam from the beginning, but you never know. And I hate scammers, they are ruining ebay! So I will give him one more day and then I am going to burn him everyway I can, and I think Matchframe has some ideas to.
So we will close this saga tomorrow.

I still have not heard from this guy, other than the voice mail saying not to stop by where he works again....which by the way is an animal clinic, not a shop that builds hot rods like he said on ebay!

Matchframe: Contact the US Attorneys Office, Southern District of Texas, Computer Crime Division, Houston, Texas.
They have actively prosecuted e-bay scams before. It is a federal crime.
Due to the amount of money involved, and it is in their federal district, they will probably pursue it.

The auction winner should at least report the incident to E-Bay to get this little monkey's account shut down. That might make him think twice before trying it again on someone who doesn't have "connections".

I reported it to Ebay and they said that they are going to look into it.
Imagine this guys surprise He lists a phony engine on Ebay thinking he is going to rip someone off, Then a couple days later he has someone banging at his door at work, He has to be thinking how in the hell did these guys find me, He never told us where he worked, The guy called me from work and forgot a little thing called Caller ID!, I gave the number to Bill and he tracked it down. I just have to say thank you to Matchframe for all his time and effort, not many people would go out of their way like he did, he is an assett to this forum. Maybe someday I can return the favor. Now back to the drawing board, what engine to run in my 69!
