Default 1981 A/C Heater Control Question

My control panel has no light, and I looked around under there and I don't see a light socket or anything like you would see behind the speedo cluster.

This thing's got to be lighted right?? The owners manual lists a A/C bulb, and I checked my assembly manual and it doesn't show any light or anything that goes into the unit. Is the bulb inside the unit?

The only light source for the a/c controls is the "projector" light that shoots down from the top of the center gage bezel.

I couldn't find my heater control light either until I was putting in a new cd player. Make sure you get the correct light so it will be bright enough. A 194 works ok but could be brighter. Someone here or a
Chevy parts counter will have the correct number.
