Sweet but expensive and you cannot bore it on rebuild, either toss it or resleeve it. A 434 will give a rebuild. I am eyeing a 434 from here:

I think it would be cooled just fine with a 4 core C3 radiator. L88's ran with them and made that kind of power. With new aluminum radiators and nice electric fans I am sure it could be cooled well.

Nice engine, but it is a "Disposable" engine. One nick on the cylinder wall and the blovk has to be tossed because it can't be bored out. A good aluminum rad should cool it just fine.

With a 4.25" bore you only have .15" of space between the cylinders for sealing. The head gasket manufactures say they can seal it but long term I wonder??????????

I think you can buy a Billy Mitchell (World Porducts) a carberated 632 ci big block for just a little more and it makes 780 HP on pump gas, with no power adders. Utter simplicity.

But then you've got a big block... and who wants that?

Raised cam blocks with longer strokes is a better way to make a big small block.
