Default 327 id questiones

After getting nowhere with this question in OT, i'll try it again...

ok, I just pulled the motor out of my 69 vette. The original motor was replaced it with a 327 (I knew this when i purchased it). Now that its out, i know the casting number on the 327 is 3914660 and has a casting date of t14. I searched a couple web site and im still confused where this 327 originally came from. Some sites say a truck others said chevelle, camaro, novo.

Could someone please let me know what it is out of? Any advice on what this motor (with heads and intake) is worth would be appreciated too.

Thanks
Carl

We need the suffix stamping from the front of the block. It is the area in front of the passenger side head. With that, we have a good shot at ID'ing the engine.

The 2 letters after the assembly date code stamp is needed.

Cars and Parts Chevy V8 Casting Numbers book says 68-9 327 Pass, Chevelle, Camaro, Nova, Truck. It's 4.0" bore large journal block. It will be 2-bolt mains as no 327s were 4 bolt. If you are going to build a 350 why not just get a 350 crank and build this one? It is period stuff, probably decent material. I doubt you will get more than $300 for the engine (maybe a little more depending on the intake). I'd use it if I could.

I would have left it in the car so somebody could drive it. Complete oil pan to air cleaner with a Vette distributor it may bring $300-400 with a Qjet, more with a Holley depending on if the intake is GM or aftermarket. If you have SB exhaust manifolds they may bring $100 for the pair if they are nice.
