Default Ring and Pinion question

I have a 68 BB roadster with a 373 posi, can I just buy a 411/456 ring and pinion and install them on the same posi unit?? (have a shop do it )

NO.
You must either replace your 3 series carrier to a 4 series for ratios of 4:11 and greater...or get the appropriate spacer shim for your existing 3 series.
You cannot just bolt the 4 series gears onto your 3 series carrier.

Thank you jim70, that would not have been the thing to find out after it's all back together, although I haven't even got it apart yet something told to wait a little longer.
Does it go under the ring gear to space it closer to the pinion because the ring gear is thinner ( more teeth cut out )??
