Default '70 LT-1 Resto-Mod: Any interest?

Due to the sluggish economy I'm having to cut back some, and sadly the Vette may be a casualty, so I'm trying to gauge interest to see whether I should offer it or not. If anyone is interested in contacting me I'd love your feedback and/or thoughts, and my email is: carnalsupply@sbcglobal.net I'm hoping to sell the car for $30K or more.

The car is a Cortez Silver 1970 LT-1 with Black Leather Deluxe Interior - in absolutely beautiful condition. Everything on the car functions properly, including all gauges and fiber-optics, but the drive-train has been highly modified. Granted, I used the original LT-1 block but nothing else of the original engine is used. I also replaced the M-21 with a Tremec TKO-600 and added a wealth of high performance suspension pieces, so this is NOT a concourse car.

The chassis has approximately 120,000 miles since new and the engine/drive-line combo has less than 500 since built.

The engine was fired up for the first time on a Mustang chassis dyno, and with absolutely NO tuning of the computer (only a base tune, which is nowhere near accurate enough) and the engine still churned out 510hp (445 rwhp). With the fine tuning now done we're estimating a solid 600-625hp, though I haven't had the opportunity to get back to a dyno.

The original hood, trans, intake, and a host of other parts, would be included in the sale.

Here's a list of most of the items used to build the car:

Bumper Guard, Left
Bumper Guard, Right
Mirror, Outside Left
Mirror, Outside Right

Just have to put my two cents in. Nice car but. Of all the numbers known to exist those would be the very last numbers I would put on anything.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "last numbers". Would you elaborate?

Thanks

My guess is he's referring to your license plate.

666 AKA "The Number of the Beast"

I had license plate # "HMG 666" issued to me one year. That same year I started my now 6 figure a year job so I have no problem with the number myself.

As for the car itself Reminds me of my first Vette.

Ahhhh, I hadn't even considered that!
My nickname is "Satan" hence the license plate. In fact, my Cadillac plate reads 666 CTS V.
Luckily my salary is intact, but sadly my wife is in the mortgage business so that's where the downturn in the economy has hurt us.

Referring to the numbers mentioned in the book of Revelation. I'm sure many people would understand what I mean. Just my two cents, Good Day.

Hey Craig,
Yes, I'm sure many people would understand exactly what you mean, but it is exactly for that reason I chose the plate I did.
After years of having people put their personal (and I believe private) beliefs in front of me via license plates, bumper stickers, etc., I felt compelled to express my thoughts on the subject.
I neither condone nor condemn a person for their beliefs, but I do not appreciate having them thrust in my face, hence the plate I chose.
Alas, that's what the freedoms granted us by our constitution are for.

Man, if I had 30K, I'd buy that car all day and twice on Sunday. I love it. I know that doesn't help at all, but hopefully you won't have too much trouble finding a buyer if that's what you decide to do.

Thanks for all the kind comments: it's remarks like these that give me some hope when I put the car on eBay in the next couple months (if it comes to that).
The rims are Compomotives, and you can order them in whatever size you like (15"-17" & mine are 17's). Here's the link you'll need, and the folks here are GREAT to work with: http://www.usacomp.com/hb.htm
The rims are true 3 piece so building something with the correct offset is really easy for them. In fact, since my combo was a real unknown for them they even offered to take the rims back and change out the offset if need be, and since it's simply a matter of unbolting and bolting they said they'd do it at no charge! I can't guarantee that for every customer but I think that kind of customer service is way too rare.

Thanks again

Do you have any pics with the hood painted? I could be interested.
Let me know if you are really offering for sale.

Default Really very nice

I love that car man!

I normally prefer the almost stock look, but that is sweet. That is the second silver LT1 I have seen on here recently. And the hilborn set up is cool! I wih I could fit it under my stock BB hood.

Hey Carb,

Believe it or not the Hilborn's will actually fit under the stock hood, but it's TIGHT! If the car were to backfire out the stacks there's a real good possibility it would ignite the hood so that's why I went to the L88 hood. Since going to the L88 I also fabbed up a custom rectangular air filter enclosure for a nice large K&N. The base of the enclosure is sheet steel and the top is a layered carbon composite. Granted, the carbon top could be made better by a professional but it was my first attempt, so for now it'll do.

Hey Doug,

I painted the hood myself and after seeing the results (and getting some feedback from my buddy who's a painter) I decided to pull the hood and have him paint it.

Long story short: No, I don't have any shots with the hood painted, but it'll be worth the wait (a month or so) since Joe (the painter) paints at one of the countries leading hot rod shops.

I'm going to take a series of new shots, including the completed interior, etc. to better show the car, and when I do I'll get them posted on here ASAP.

If you'd like to discuss the car more in depth shoot me an email:
carnalsupply@sbcglobal.net

Thanks,

Bob

I was asked for various pictures of my car so I took some last night, including updated shots of the engine, which differ quite a bit from the original shot I posted above.
If there's something else you'd like to see that I missed just let me know and I'd be happy to add it.

Thanks again for all the kind words and support!
