The car is a 1969 427/390 automatic coupe, Cortez Silver over Black Leather. Build date K11 (June 11, 1969). Engine block is 3983512 casting dated C 8 9. (March 8). Currently has TRW 0.030" over pistons. Block is stamped TO325LL, 19S72xxxx. Heads are rebuilt and in bags, 3931063 casting, BOTH with the same date of C 21 9. All the dates line up, and I have no doubt they are original.

I'm interested in this project, but afraid that it may be too much to take on. I'm looking to build a nice condition driver / local show car. Can anyone tell me what type of donor is required? Can I use frame and interior from later c3's or do I need to source all '69 to '72 parts? I've seen a couple really cheap engine fire cars that would serve as donors, but out of the '74-'79 vintage. BTW this is the first corvette project, but I'm fairly skilled in a broad range of areas - welding, fabrication, upholstery, electrical & mechanical, etc.
