1972 LS-5 Coupe For Sale
Hi,
I'm selling a 1972 matching numbers big block coupe, 4 speed with M-21 transmission and power steering. I bought this car a year ago with every intention keeping it, but have found something else I want to get into, so it must go up for sale.
The car has 78,500 miles (which i believe are original). The car has a very clean frame and birdcage (see pictures below). It is Bryar Blue with Black Deluxe interior (originall wb yellow with black deluxe interior). The car is excellent mechanically and has given me no problems; it's a very reliable car that starts right up and runs as it should. Vaccuum system works - headlights go up and down evenly, wipers work. Original radio works, power windows work, interior lights, turn signals, heat, etc. Chrome is in excellent condition, paint is very nice overall with some minor blemishes. Below are some pictures and additional information about the car. No documentation, but with LS-5 incorporated into the VIN for 1972 and the dates lining up as they do you can judge for yourself.
VIN - 1Z37W2S507600
Engine pad - T1112CSR 12S507600
Engine casting number - 3999289
Engine casting date - J1271
Intake manifold - 6263753
Alternator - 1100543
Body build date - D17
Transmission - P2S05B
What does the car need? Minor things here and there being and almost 40 year old car, mostly cosmetic in nature. If i were to keep the car I would do the following...
1)car has original clock that sometimes stops. I would clean it, or better yet replace with quartz clock
2)the spring on one of the chrome door handles needs to be replaced. not a big deal, door still opens and shuts fine, just that when looking at it it sags a little compared to the other (can be seen in photobucket picture gallery)
3)previous owner had installed later model side mirrors. They have since been removed them and put the original back on the drivers side. as a result there two small holes in the door where the other mirrors were. I will include the other mirrors with the car, you could either put them on, or leave the original and fill the holes.
4)At some point down the road i would re-do the seat covers. they do not have rips or holes and are very presentable, but are more worn looking compared to the rest of the interior.
More pictures can be found here...

Price is....SOLD

......this was a nice car, super clean looking too. Nice photos of windshield pillars and body mounts.
....I love the fact that it's a 454ci 4spd, no A/C, no tilt/tele, leather interior car. I could have lived with the power windows.
...love the lower option simpler cars. Beautiful color combo too. I thought about it but alas I really need another Corvette like my wife needs more clothes.
