Now it's for sale on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NO-RE...item3f1060443c
based on the poor spelling, I'd say it's the same seller.

The ebay listing says:
"ORIGINAL INTERIOR THAT IS KIND OF DUSTY FROM BEING IN PAINT SHOP BUT NO RIPS OR TEARS AND JUST NEEDS A GOOD OLD CLEANING.THE INTERIOR IS COMPLETE AND IN GOOD DRIVER QUALITY"
I'd say this interior needs more than "just a good old cleaning"!

This guys seems fishy to me. I am not trying to insult anyone here, but the fact of the matter is, if he owns a car that is practically worth $100,000 now but only needs a few replacement parts, and a verification to make it worth $100s of $1,000s more. Why is he not doing the research and then selling it?
If I had something worth near $1,000,000, I would not sell it for $100,000.
OP, I would suggest to do the verification of $2500 yourself. Then try to sell it. It seems there is a lot of interest on here for a legit Mako car.

It had a required starting bid of $22,500 and he got no bids before the auction closed. He has relisted it with a $6,500 starting bid and it currently has a bid of $6,600.
Here is the link to the new listing: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...04987189879865
The pictures he has on eBay are really crappy. If you want to sell something nice for top dollar at least go to the effort to get quality pictures. Also, his descriptions paint a much rosier picture than do the photographs themselves, thus it leads you to not trust him.

This all sounds legit to me. I just might bid on this rare car.
First, I have to sell my Rembrandt painting. I'm thinking the painting could be worth around $50 million. It is a very rare Rembrandt, I'm told it is maybe the only one he did not sign. Now, that is rare in my book!

I agree very legit! Ha!
But, it is a cool looking car, even if it is a Motion Kit replica. However, there is obviously A LOT of work to be done by seeing the pics of the interior (a complete disater) and the engine (looks really rough). Who knows what the underside looks like since he posted no pictures. I guarantee you are going to pour thousands and thousands of dollars into this car to have it road worthy, so you'd need to really buy it on the cheap.

Nice, a listing for the visually impaired.
I would expect that if the seller thinks the car is worth big bucks he would have spent an hour or two to at least clean the dust off the interior and engine.

I think it might be a worthwhile car to take a real close look at in person. If I lived close, I'd even help wash it since it doesn't appear that has happened (Sunday's update stated that new pics of a clean car would be posted on Monday).
As for whether it is real or not, who knows!! But a Motion Can-Am Spyder was recently discovered behind a body shop!!
I also agree with the previous posts, if I had the title.....I sure would spend the cash and the time to investigate this car before selling it!!

Most people would take the time and money to investigate the authenticity of the car, especially before using money to paint it. Which makes me wonder if the seller did an investigation and didn't like the results, so he is saying he hasn't investigated and is trying to sell it as a "possible" authentic Mako Shark.

Saw this car on craigslist a few months back and since I am local I called multiple times with no call back. Saw the ad on Ebay last week or so and sent him an email about documentation and he said he had none. I then asked why he doesn't have the car authenticated like previous posters have stated and he said he just wants to sell it. I think that says it all. Not one bid on Ebay and if the car had any authenticity to it he would contact Joel Rosen and then sell it for a boatload.

Not bashing the guy but when these things were built into Baldwin~Motion supercars with the body kits, not often or ever would you see a factory 350 horse smallblock that had air being converted, I don't ever remember seeing a LT-1 offering in the vette by Baldwin Motion back in the day on the Mako cars, it was the time of big horsepower wars still going on and with the smallblock it was like bringing a butterknife to a gun fight.
Sounding like someone kitted the car way back when but there is nothing to authenticate if thats the case, no docs, no real!
$2,500 is a lot of money for Joel to tell the owner its not real, maybe the owner knows that already.
Who knows but if it was real, I don't think we would be here discussing this car right now!
Still has the 6K redline 350-350 tach in it!
