1978 Corvette Pace Car For Sale
Location: Brooksville, FL
I am selling my 1978 Chevy Corvette Pace Car L48. It has 16,021 original miles on it and is in very good shape. It has a 350 Cu. In.V8 engine (185 Horsepower) with a 3 speed Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. It's 0-60 mph time is 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 123 mph. The exterior has a two tone black and grey ORIGINAL paint job along with having grey leather interior as well. Both the exterior and interior are in excellent condition. This Corvette also has the glass T-top, alloy wheels, air conditioning, etc... It also has power windows and door locks.
It has a brand new set of Goodyear eagle gt2 tires on them which haven't even seen a mile of road on them yet. Their the closest tires to originals that can be found. It also has stainless steel Corvette calipers with stainless steel wheel cylinders. Along with a brand new battery in it.There were only 6,502 of these Pace Car editions ever built so don't miss this opportunity to buy one! I bought this car in 1996 and it has always been garage kept for as long as I've owned it.
Asking 17,000

Was the transmission replaced? It should be a 3 speed auto not 4. Also, do you have the centre caps to the wheels? Nice looking car. I'll pass along the details to some people I know in the market for an IPC.

No its the original transmission. Sorry I mistyped when posting the ad and just corrected it. You are correct it is a 3 speed auto not a 4 speed. I do also have the original center caps for the wheels as well. There currently in a box next to the car. Thanks for helping get the word out there for me!

Where is the car located? Your profile is empty. I was going to assume Florida but you know what happens when you assume.

Burning Brakes
"asking price" gives the impression that you are asking too much for the car and trying to rip someone off that doesn't simple offer less.
All I'm suggesting is that you should state the price with confidence.
Be proud of the product you are selling and state a fair price for it, and hold to that price.
Good luck on the sale, it is a wonderful looking car

Hi gatorman115,
what is actually the reason(s) to sell your IPC ?
My name is Walter from the Frankfurt/Germany area looking for a good quality/price ratio 1978 IPC for about 1 year. To get my 67 convtl. pony car imported it took me additionally 3 visits to US to find one of my dream car. Because my other dream car is a 1978 IPC vette, I hope not to go through all “lessons learned” session. Comparing w/ the European market I’ve figured out that the most of he seller’s provide limited or no underneath images. Maybe I’ll find in this forum a supporter to get a good car for a fair price. (I’m not looking for a only 13-mile dusty 1978 IPC :-) ).
Can you pls. provide my a URL to review underneath images as well of the Body Identification Plate, VIN, Transmission, Rear axle, Engine, Carburetor ?
What documents are available w/ the car ? (i.e. build sheet/window sticker/manuals etc.) I’m asking because our german DMV departments have strong regulations to get it registered as a Antique Vehicle.
How many owner, titled documented odometer reading history do you have ?
I’m planning currently my visit for dec 2011 / jan. 2012 to inspect some possible cars (if I find some interesting ones on the internet)
All the best from the cold Frankfurt / Germany area.
BTW:
I’m not a commercial dealer, I like some US muscle cars and felt “in love” 10 yrs. ago while I was engaged and worked in the US and Germany for a big blue IT company.
Cheers and all the best from the cold Frankfurt area. Hope hearing from u.

Hi Gatorman,
I agree totally w/ DucatiDon. I' ve already booked a flight to Orlando to examin other L48 / L82 IPC's.
My above request for more images / information upfront some weeks ago was meant seriously. So if you want to sell, why hesitating providing / post further details in advance ?
Have a nice day and many thx. for your efforts
Cheers,
Walter
