Corvette Convertible 1970 350/350 Top flight
Up for sale is my 1970 Corvette convertible 350/350 HP with four-speed transmission and 39000 original miles. It has manual steering and brakes. It has its original working AM/FM radio and antenna which works perfectly. It has a Donnybrook Green exterior and green interior with a black convertible top. It comes with the original factory hardtop. This is a very special car. What makes it so special is it's unbelievable originality and the fact that it is completely unmolested. Every part of this car is numbers matching as it came from the factory. This car has never been hit with every single body panel factory original. I have all documentation for this car dating back to the day it was purchased by its original owner plus all judging sheets in an organized notebook. This includes the tank sticker, Protect-0-Plate, original bills of sale, service records and all original books and manuals in factory packet. The car was repainted very early in 1970. It is my belief that upon delivery there were some defects in the paint and so the car was repainted. The paint is not perfect and has cracks and chips when looked at closely (it is 40 yrs. Old). It is presentable in its present condition but would be spectacular with a new paint job. The interior is in fantastic shape with one crack in the seam of the passenger seat. The original top is in great shape but does have a ½” flap cut in the rear window. The rear window is discolored but can be seen through. The birdcage and frame are rust free however there is some minor surface rust on the front cross member. I did not remove it so as not to disturb its originality. This car received a regional top-flight award in its present condition in November of 2009. The previous owner drove the car from Pennsylvania to Marlborough Massachusetts for judging. The engine runs perfectly, steering is tight and this car can be driven anywhere in complete confidence. This car is a joy to drive and own and would be almost impossible to duplicate. If there are any questions please feel free to contact me at 732-713-8004 or ckrop@aol.com. my name is Charlie. If you require any specific pictures please feel free to contact me. Price is $36000. If you are interested give me a call and we can talk.

Hi C,
You certainly has what appears to be an interesting car.
I'd think buyers looking for this type of car would want to see some chassis pictures along with the engine compartment pictures your link leads to.
Again, NICE looking 70.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

I have been getting so many nice compliments on the car might just keep it
Everyone on the forum has been so great with advice and positive feedback on the car and I really appreciate it. Nobody has actually come forth with any real interest in buying it. I am getting more tempted to just keep the car. What a quandry I am in

For those of us purists and for those "In the know" regarding original condition, it's worth so
much more with original paint.
Years ago, when I had an all original, low mileage 72' survivor, the suggestion from my
corvette friends was to park it and buy a driver. If your leary of driving it now with original
paint, imagine how much more you would be protective of it and less likely to drive if you had it
re-painted? The cost to do a quality re-paint is very expensive.
Save your money. Keep the car original. Enjoy it.
As for the popularity of the color in 1970, it was the second lowest production color.
So it's pretty rare, let alone in original paint.
Also remember, the second lowest production year for the corvette.
So any "Original" paint will be rare. Just my 2 cents worth.
By the way, my original low mileage, original paint 72', I sold it to a friend.
When I owned it, I had it judged at an NCRS Chapter meet. It received a Top Flight.
After my friend bought it, it received a Top Flight in Regionals and at Nationals and eventually
a Bow Tie. It would not have been recognized if not for having the original paint.
Just keep that in mind.

I am not sure if the paint is considered original since it was repainted in lacquer in 1970. The car was never hit so I would assume that the factory paint was defective in some way requiring a repaint. I did mention this in the original description. That is why I wasnt sure that repainting it would be a problem. The paint is 40 years old but not really factory. I do not want to misrepresent the paint as something it is not. Thanks for all your imput it means a lot to me.
P.S. I guess I was wrong about the popularity of the color if it was the second rarest.

Again....do not paint this car! If it was painted in '70 or not ...leave it alone ...You would regret it one day! Many of these early 70's C3's were repainted at the Dealer due to poor paint!
