Kind of silly question.. but being as it is a big block... how fast is it compared to modern day Corvettes?

Stock 70 Big Block generally ran low to mid 14s back in the day. New corvette will run low to mid 12s all day at 110 mph or more.

keep in mind that 14s time was on tires from that era, lots of tire spin with that BB torque. As far as speed on the street/seat of your pants power/ my car feels every bit as fast as a C6.

I have a set of 71 original heads just rebuilt if someone wants and I am looking for aluminum heads .

500 ft.lbs. of torque makes and seat feel good

I felt the same way since the torque curve is so flat in the C6.

They are dated 1974. The car is in storage at my friends garage so I can't go pull the valve cover to get you the month, but I know they were 1974.
